His school orchestra directors — Brian Coatney, Carly Addison, and formerly Sadarius Slaughter — have each played key roles in his development and leadership.Beyond performing, Dylan has conducted the Wylie Community Orchestra and serves as a student intern with the McMillan Junior High Orchestra, assisting in rehearsals and sectionals as he grows his educational abilities. He was also a national qualifier with the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) for designing and presenting a middle school orchestra lesson on the foundations of conducting, for which he received a Judge's Choice Scholarship for. He has recently designed a lesson plan for Musicianship for Young Orchestral Musicians, which has earned him a spot at the 2026 Teach Tomorrow Summit, where he hopes to qualify for Nationals once again.Drawn to playing a wide range of musical genres, Dylan finds special fulfillment in chamber music, where the absence of a conductor encourages players to listen, communicate, and create as one unified ensemble. Through every opportunity, he continues to grow as both a violinist and educator, inspired by the connections music creates within a community.
