Sea Davidson is a cellist from Wylie, Texas, known for her expressive sound, strong musicianship, and thoughtful performances. She is the principal cellist of the Wylie High School Orchestra, performing under the direction of Brian Coatney and Carly Addison. Sea is deeply passionate about music and enjoys connecting with audiences through emotion and storytelling.She began playing the cello after being introduced to it by a family friend, an experience that sparked her love for the instrument and set her on her musical path. That early encouragement helped shape her curiosity and creativity as a musician. Sea currently studies privately with Sue Ewing and Dr. Dan Totan, whose guidance has been instrumental in developing both her technique and expressive range. She began her orchestra journey at a young age under the direction of Sadarius Slaughter.Sea is an active ensemble musician and serves as the cellist of the Wylie String Quartet, where she plays a key role in shaping the group’s sound with warmth and leadership. In addition to leading the cello section at her school, she also performs with the Dallas Asian American Youth Orchestra (DAAYO), where she collaborates with talented young musicians from across the DFW region under the direction of Matthew Moreno.Her summer music experiences include the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, where she studied with Dr. Sanz, as well as UTA Summer Strings and Texas Cello Camp. These programs have helped her grow musically and deepen her commitment to continued improvement.Sea brings intention and imagination to every performance. Whether playing a solo line, working closely with chamber musicians, or supporting an orchestra, she strives to communicate something meaningful through her music. Her playing reflects both technical skill and emotional honesty, making her a dedicated musician and collaborator.
