Walter Talbot is a violinist with the Wylie String Quartet and a member of the Wylie High School Orchestra under Brian Coatney and Carly Addison, where he continues to grow as both a performer and collaborator. Known for his warm tone and accurate playing, Walter brings a sense of sincerity and showmanship to every performance.He began studying violin at a young age, inspired by his mother, who first introduced him to music. What began as a family pastime soon developed into a true passion, leading Walter to study under a violinist from the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Under this mentorship, he has refined his technical skills and deepened his understanding of phrasing and tone color.Walter has consistently earned placement in the All-Region Orchestra throughout his high school years and has also been selected for the All-Region Choir, demonstrating his versatility as both an instrumentalist and vocalist. He has performed with the Wylie High School Choir and takes pride in contributing to the ensemble’s musical storytelling.One of Walter’s most memorable experiences was performing at UIL during his freshman year—a milestone that strengthened his love for orchestral performance and the shared energy of live music where he helped earn the group sweepstakes. He values the sense of unity that comes from playing in an ensemble and strives to bring that same connection to his chamber music performances.Outside of competitions and concerts, Walter enjoys exploring old Christmas music and lyrical, slow-paced works that highlight the violin’s expressive voice. Whether performing on stage or rehearsing with friends, he aims to communicate warmth, beauty, and authenticity through every note.
